Easy Doggie Peanut Butter Cookies.
My Two girls. Zoe on left and Lu-Lu on right.
I made a huge batch of these easy dog cookies this past Christmas and everyone that received them wanted the recipe. There are only 4 ingredients and the pooches seem to love them! I used a large bone shaped cutter purchased from Joann Fabrics and assorted miniature Christmas cutters too.
2 cups of whole wheat flour
1 tbsp. of baking powder
1 cup peanut butter ( I used creamy)
1 cup milk ( I did use a bit more just to make it smooth and elastic)
Combine flour and baking powder in one bowl. Combine peanut butter and milk in another bowl. Mix all four ingredients together. ( I kneaded it for a few minutes to make it smooth and elastic) Roll out about 1/4" thick and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes or until bottoms begin to brown. Let them cool and store in airtight container.

Archie Squares
This recipe is one that I have tried and really enjoyed making. They are more savory than the peanut butter recipe. Rather than cutting them into bars I did roll them out and cut them with cookies cutters.
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup powdered dry milk
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. brown sugar or honey
6 tbs. meat or bacon drippings, cold right from refrigerator, not melted or soft!
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup Ice water
Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly oil a cookie sheet. Combine flour, dry milk, garlic powder and sugar. Cut in meat drippings until mixture resembles corn meal. Mix in egg. Add enough water so that mixture forms a ball. Using your fingers, pat out dough onto cookie sheet to 1/2" thick. Cut dough into squares appropriate for your dog size. Prick each cookie with fork. Bake 25-30 minutes. Remove from tray and cool on rack. Store in airtight container.
